With over 70+ years of Serving the Communities of Trinidad & Tobago

The TTAVCC has been serving the communities of Trinidad and Tobago for over 70 years. The official birth of Village and Community Councils in Trinidad and Tobago began in 1959, just before independence was granted by Great Britain. 

We are constitutionally bound to be non-political, accepting of every religious denomination, and representative of every creed and race in the country. They serve as a platform for residents to come together and make decisions that benefit their village as a whole.

Community Involvement

The Trinidad and Tobago Association of Village and Community Councils are involved in their communities through the organization of regular community meetings, providing volunteer opportunities, conducting community surveys, and involving residents in the budgeting process through participatory budgeting.

National Integrations

We play an important role in promoting national integration by fostering a sense of community and belonging among residents of Trinidad and Tobago, organizing national events and activities that celebrate diversity, and addressing issues that may undermine national integration, such as discrimination and social exclusion.

Capacity Building

Capacity building in the context of the Trinidad and Tobago Association of Village and Community Councils involves providing training and support to council members, staff, residents, and community groups to enhance their ability to effectively participate in local governance and community development.
